How to convert images
Not every program or form accepts every image format. Here you can convert between JPG, PNG and WebP, including several images at once. The conversion happens locally in your browser.
- Select one or more images in JPG, PNG or WebP format.
- Choose the target format and, for JPG or WebP, set the quality.
- Start the conversion and download the images one by one or together as a ZIP.
Which format for what?
JPG is the standard for photos and is accepted almost everywhere. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which makes it a good fit for logos, screenshots and graphics. WebP combines small files with good quality and works particularly well for websites.
What happens to transparency?
JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with white when converting to JPG. If you want to keep transparency, choose PNG or WebP as the target format.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert WebP to JPG?
Yes. Select your WebP files and set JPG as the output format. This way, images from the web open in programs that do not support WebP.
Does my image lose quality when converted?
PNG is saved losslessly. JPG and WebP use lossy compression, and the quality slider controls how much. From about 85%, photos show hardly any difference from the original.
Why can’t my browser create WebP?
Not every browser can create WebP images, even if it can display them. In that case, you will see a notice. Choose JPG or PNG instead, or use a browser such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Are my images stored anywhere?
No. The images are only processed in your browser’s memory and are not uploaded. As soon as you switch tools or close the page, they are released.
