Up to 30 files · max. 25 MB each · 50 MB in totalZIP files are opened locally only. Their contents are not executed. Already compressed files often barely shrink in a ZIP.
How to create and extract ZIP files
With ZIP, you can send many files as a single package and open archives you receive without extra software. This tool does both: it bundles any files into a ZIP and extracts existing ZIP files, right in your browser.
- Select the files you want to bundle, or a ZIP file to extract.
- Check your selection. If you choose a single ZIP file, extracting is already preselected.
- Start the process and download the archive or the extracted files.
Does ZIP make everything smaller?
Text files, spreadsheets and many documents get much smaller. Photos, videos, MP3s and PDFs are usually compressed already and hardly shrink. In that case, the main benefit is having everything in one file.
Extracting safely
When extracting, the tool checks every file for completeness and rejects unsafe file paths. Contents are never executed, only made available for download. Even so, only open downloaded files if you trust the sender.
Frequently asked questions
Which ZIP files are supported?
Standard ZIP archives up to 25 MB that extract to no more than 100 MB and 200 entries. Password-protected, multi-part and ZIP64 archives are not supported yet. RAR and 7z files cannot be opened.
What happens to folders inside the archive?
Files from subfolders are output individually. If two files have the same name, the second one gets a number so that nothing is overwritten.
Can I create a password-protected ZIP?
No, the archives created here are not encrypted. For confidential content, use a program that supports secure encryption.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Bundling and extracting happen entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
